A few weeks ago I had an article that took off. It was curated, but then similar to your story it was just sitting there mostly unnoticed. But then it got over 100 views on 2 consecutive days (that’s a lot for me, I’m not famous).

If you go to the stats page for the story, scroll down to the bottom where it says “views by traffic source”. Each source gives you a number and sometimes you can click on a link to see where the people came from. My story was posted on a Facebook page called “things on the internet today”. No idea who put it there, but almost 200 visitors came from that link. Not sure if it would work for sites outside of Facebook but there’s one idea!
